Metastaz Returns

We haven't yet re-talked about Thomas Simoes, more known under the nickname of "Metastaz", since this interview (only in French) made by DjO, one year ago...
For those haven't follow his story, he's a young artist from the area of St-Etienne, who is doing computer music, and who is doing it very well ! Indeed dub computer music are most of the time made without any flavor or any personnality, Metastaz got away from the masses by his orginality and mostly by his talent.

To come back on the project called "Metastaz", you have to know that since several month, Thomas is not any more alone and he's working now with three persons : the drummer from the band Whit Weed (Bidoo), a bassist/cellist (Mathieu), and Stan which is working on the visual and graphic side of the project. METASTAZ is bcomming a full band, where Thomas is the leading man, the machinist. The whole band is not resting and they are nowadays recording a future LP, LP which will be remixed in the Jarring Effect Studio in Lyon.
As said before the project will be articulated around a video live and the CD will contain a multimedia part made of pictures galleries, audiovisual work made in collaboration with some graphist and infographist. By the way the a special track is foretold with the featuring of Le Grendel (ex member of General Dub ) on a future and expected compiling from the parisiane label Sounds Around : New (dub) Excursion (relaese in september 2007) withe d'Ez3kiel, Vibronics, Fedayi Pacha, Hybrid Sound System, Sir Lasie I, Impros Dub...
Shortly we can said that the project Metastaz is more mature since the time when a young passionate was playing to play dub music on his computer.
Precisely on this topic, you can (re)listen to his previous double album Anekoik Pressure, which is re-released on the LCL (Les Cristaux Liquident) netlabel always under Creative commons license, downloadable by clicking there
You can still discover a remarquable album for a "beginner" caraterized by an electro dub touch at the limit with the d'n'b on some tracks, with some oriental influences, often melancholic. Notably with a track based on some samples from Zenzile, a featuring with Le Grendel, an other with some russians Dub Tv, a remix made by Webcam Hi-Fi, a remix by Lena an other by his former ska band Boaviska and more
